The Nigerian
Turkish Nile University Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, is created for all Muslim
students in NTNU. The society firmly believes in the glorious Quran and the
Sunnah of the noble prophet Muhammad (SAW) as its cardinal basis and guide.
Brief History
The MSSN of
Nigerian Turkish Nile University traces its origin back to a meeting of several
Muslim students of NTNU in the mid-year 2012 at which a mosque committee was
formed. The mosque committee became the precursor to the present-day MSSN of
NTNU, it currently have both brothers and sisters wing and is an affiliate
member of the well know Muslim Student Society of Nigeria (MSSN)
Mission
The primary
goal of MSSN of NTNU is to be an informative, exemplary and unifying the
Islamic Society in NTNU that contribute to the betterment of the Muslim
community and the society at large.
Vision
Ø To create an environment on campus
that will foster the development and growth of the diverse Muslims
Ø Act as a resource to the whole
campus community and represent Islam in the best possible manner
Ø Create an awareness of Islam and
promote understanding between the Muslims and other faith at NTNU through
education and interaction.
Achievements
Since its
inception, the MSSN of NTNU has engaged in activities geared towards achieving
its goal amongst which are:
v Islamic Classes: The society helps
in organizing classes that will help students learn basic Islamic knowledge,
Classes involved are Tauhid, Aadaab, Seerah, Fiqh, and Arabic Language.
v Islamic Lectures: The MSSN of NTNU
was opportune to host lectures delivered by renowned scholars both national and
international in Nigerian Turkish Nile University.
Amongst the popular lectures are:
Dr Bilal Philips founder and dean of Islamic Online University (IOU) set
to have delivered a profound lecture at NTNU
Sheikh Bin Uthman was a well-known scholar who delivers lectures and
also attends international meetings and conferences al over the world. He also
delivered lecture at NTNU.
Dr. Isa Ali Pantami is an Islamic scholar who obtained his first degree
in computer science at ATBU Bauchi, and have delivered a lecture at NTNU about
“life of an Ideal Muslim on Campus”.
