APPLYING
THE TEACHINGS OF QUR'AN AND SUNNAH
IN
THE NAME OF ALLAH, MOST GRACIOUS, MOST MERCIFUL
All praise and gratitude are due to Allah the Self-sufficient
master, who has sent His messenger with Guidance and the Religion of Truth, to
make it prevail over All religion. We extol and Glorify Him, and seek for His
forgiveness, And may His peace, blessings and tranquility be upon his noble and
cherished Messenger, his house-hold and those follows their right path till the
Day of reckoning.
My respected brothers in islam! The only fundamental key to
the life of opulence here and Here-aftter is solely on applying the teachings
of Qur'an and sunnah, for verily righteous servants are those who always remain
consistent and make the commandment of Allah (S.W.T) prevail over their on lust,
and always trying to practicalise it for knowing the implication of proclaiming
without applying, and the fact that knowledge can either serve as reason for
servant or against him to be in Hell-fire. Allah the Omnipotent stated vividly
in sura Assaffi; ("O you who believe! why do you say that which you do not
do. Most hateful it is with Allah that you say that which you do not do). This
verse prevents us to utter that which we would not fullfil. The righteous
servants of the Allmighty are those who are Best-aquainted with what they
proclaim for whenever you see in the Holy qur'an Allah mentioning those who
believe frequently follows it with the; " work righteousness" which can also signifies putting it in to
practice. Umar (R.A) was asked concerning piety when he said; " Being
afraid of The Most-exalted (ALLAH) and working with revelation, and drafting
for the Day of reckoning" and this is quiet enline with how the
companions were during the precious time of prophet (S.A.W), they were good
ambassadors of islam that when the messenger of Allah teach them one verse in
the Holy Qur'an will not recieve the next verse untill after some days when
they practicalise it, and this is not defying the above mentioned verse (in Suratul-
Al-saff). The verse also refutes those who neglet to fullfil their
promises, if it is regarding the right of any one they should give what is due
to him.
A hadith that is
frightening dwells on the issue of not acting in accordance to what you enjoin
people of islamic values shows that A knowlegiable that is not practicing that
which he enjoin people, would be positioned under a dis-believer in the
Hell-fire. Allah's refuge is what we seek from this. My honourable audience! We
seldon read some verses in our daily prayers from Suratul faatihaa asking
Allah; Guide us to the right way. The way of those upon whom you have bestowed
your grace, not of those who earned your anger, nor of those who went astray.
Scholars mentoined that; those who earned Allah's anger are the Jews, cos they
knew the truth (islamic religion) but neglect it and as such; whoever knows the
truth and ignor it or refuse to apply easily can he earn Allah's anger. On the
other hand, those who went astray (as mentioned in the sura) implies the
christians for they are ignorants of the truth religion and so, they went astray.
It's of highly
importance when we ponder on the following chapter in the noble qur'an which
imam Ash-shafi'i said " If people
were to ponder on this Sura, it would be sufficient for them. Allah the Omnipotent
said; " By Al-Asr. Verily man is in loss. Except those who believe and do
righteous deeds.......". The point of discussion here is saying; "Except
those who believe and do righteous deeds". Allah mentioned belief then
follows it wiith good deeds which implies that if only man wants to be among
the victorious should back his belief by acting righteously, and this entails
that one must act upon whatsoever he enjoin people, sticking to this had a great
lasting influence that attracts much of dis-believers during the prophet's and
his companion's era, and obcus even some righteous generations before us, but
our own era is totally contradicting. One great man said; " Had i got to
learn islam through the muslims and their behaviours, i wouldn't have been a
muslim, but i knew islam through the islamic books". This is a good
indication that our actoins is totally contradicting the precious values of
islam.
So, my respected
brothers! We have to make a paradigm shift. Redirect the ship, what i simply
mean; sanitizing our moral behaviours.
It is with this
that i pray to Allah to guide us and make our knowledge serve as stephen stone
to JANNAH and not a reason for our distraction and key to Hell-fire.
